The Lengths is a comics project from Howard Hardiman. Formed from a mix of autobigraphical experiences and interviews with male escorts working in London, it tells the story of Eddie, a young man struggling to find a path between the promise of a new romance with an old friend and the temptations of the work he does when he’s not Eddie, but working under a pseudonym as Ford, a sex worker who drops everything to be at the beck and call of his clients. Trying to balance the two lives isn’t something Eddie’s managing to maintain very well and the strain quickly shows.

The Lengths began as my MA project and after the first year of the course, I was lucky enough to secure a distribution deal and the first three issues of the series are now available in comics shops across the UK and through my website, http://www.thelengths.com - my intention is to complete this first story in eight chapters and then see where I go from there, while seeking out other opportunities with the things I’ve learned along the way and to keep having plenty of strange adventures while I do so.
